Institute creates resources, action plans to make engineering programs more accessible

Making engineering programs more accessible was the focus of an Accessibility Capacity Building Institute held at the UW April 19-21. Faculty, students, disability service providers and professionals with disabilities came together to create resources and action plans for incorporating accessibility and universal design content in engineering programs. The event featured a workshop led by Dan Formosa, who helped design the OXO Good Grips kitchen tools. These products have become a symbol of “design for everyone.” The event was hosted by DO-IT and AccessEngineering.
