Yes, but this is not recommended for users with little technical know-how.
You will need the “block-mount” and “luci-app-samba” packages and follow the instructions here.

Does flashing the router with the ExpressVPN firmware disable any Linksys apps that would have worked pre-flash?
Yes. Flashing the router disables all Linksys apps. However, you can reset your router to the original firmware.

Is there a limit to how many devices the router can protect?
No. You can connect as many devices as you want to the Linksys router. As long as the ExpressVPN App for Router is running, each and every connected device will be protected.

Can I select which devices are protected by the router? Can this be done on the original Linksys firmware?

You can choose which devices are protected by your router after flashing to the ExpressVPN firmware by performing the below:
Log in to expressvpnrouter.com
Go to VPN Options in the left side-bar
Select Let me select which devices should be protected
Scroll down to Recently Connected Devices and toggle protection ON or OFF for each connected device.
You cannot choose which devices are protected by VPN using the original Linksys firmware because it does not have any VPN capabilities on its own.

How else can I access my router’s settings?
Some users may have trouble accessing linksyssmartwifi.com or expressvpnrouter.com. You can still access your router’s settings via it’s default gateway. Learn how to find your router’s default gateway.

Do you plan to regularly update the firmware?
Yes. You can find the latest firmware at www.expressvpn.com/latest, under the section for “Routers”.
