Check out UW-IT’s Business Continuity Toolkit for ideas on how to share departmental updates and information using tech tools during emergency events. For example, you can use your internal web page. You can set up an email distribution list. You can turn a department voicemail box into a telephone hotline or set up a traditional phone call tree. You can conduct meetings by telephone or video conferencing.

A new 564 area code is being added in Western Washington, which will affect the way you dial local numbers. The 206, 360, 253, 425 and the new 564 area code will require 10-digit dialing after Sept. 15 for campus phones. Make sure to reset your devices to comply with the new norm. New phone lines will be assigned the new 564 area code. Tip: UW phones already support 10-digit dialing.

The campus phone operator service (206-543-2100) ends July 31, but you can still search for faculty and staff via the UW Directory. Department, school and administrative main offices can be found on the UW Office Directory. By signing in with your UW NetID, you can also search the Student Directory for currently enrolled students who have approved release of their directory information.
