She’s leveraging her membership in the Research Computing Club for cloud computing credits to do her research. Learning more about the early evolution of the universe could help us better understand dark matter, star and galaxy formation, and dark energy in the early universe.

A full-day workshop on Feb. 22, 2019, introduced UW students, faculty and staff to the basics of machine learning, an approach to Artificial Intelligence, and how to apply deep learning techniques to a range of computer vision tasks. While machine learning uses algorithms that parse and learn data inputs, deep learning structures layers of algorithms to create an artificial neural network that can logically learn and make decisions from data inputs.
